Valiant Integrated Services offers an exciting opportunity for a Junior Software Exploit Developer to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) Advance Red Cyber program. This role involves assisting in Red Team Assessments, where cybersecurity is examined from an adversarial perspective. The goal is to test protection strategies and exploit vulnerabilities in U.S. Government and Department of Defense critical networks. As a Junior Software Exploit Developer, you will play a key role in creating new tools for the Red Cyber team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop tools, exploits, and code for red cyber operations.
  2. Conduct research on cyber vulnerabilities and exploitation development using open-source information.
  3. Utilize reverse engineering skills to analyze source code for developing tools and exploits.
  4. Use scripting languages such as C or C++ for development.
  5. Review offensive scripts and code, ensuring compliance with approval processes.
  6. Analyze operational Techniques, Tactics, and Procedures (TTPs) to create exploits and scripts.
  7. Document the safe and secure usage of internally and externally developed tools following Red Team policies.
  8. Support Dev Ops reviews of code for operational approval.
  9. Adapt proof-of-concept code to create tailored exploits for Command and Control (C2) tools.
  10. Assist in the development and tuning of C2 tools to improve effectiveness and reduce detection likelihood.
  11. Respond to urgent development requests promptly, addressing vulnerabilities within 24 hours.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience.
  2. 3+ years of related experience.
  3. Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.
  4. Top Secret Security Clearance required; TS/SCI Security Clearance preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Hybrid work schedule (4 days in office, 1 remote).
  • Office environment with extensive domestic and international travel, and exposure to extreme weather conditions.
  • Activities include sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, and standing for extended periods, with lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
